I'm sure it was said somewhere in the story, b it also the fact that their characters are made to be polar opposites. The color schemes, the moods and even the names. Loona, like the name suggests, is very lunar themes, and Sol, short for Solar, is very solar themed. They also act very different with Loona being confident and abrasive, and Sol being timid and apologetic
