DDLC is the type of thing that REALLY only works in the original medium it's in. You could do some slice of life anime stuff, but you lose out on what makes it "Doki Doki Literature Club", the interactivity, the mind fuckery of Monika messing with the game, and the PERSONAL stakes of "YOU have to delete Monika's file to get the good ending" type shit.
Like how House of Leaves only really works as a book due to how it was made...though someone DID make that into a Doom Mod, so who's to say.
