NeZha I want YOUR opinion about East Asian Politics.

What is your opinion on the state of the East Asia?  How do you feel about the direction the countries are facing geopolitically? Maybe what do you think are the biggest challenges facing the various nations right now?

I know I stole ts, but people were complaining the US and Europe topics were getting racist, so I wanted to talk about something that's on my home turf that has REAL racism.

what did the chinese do to vancouver? are they buying all the houses?

Pretty much. They own most the real-estate there to hide their wealth from the party and basically do nothing with their properties. So its a bunch of empty places that are obscenly expensive to buy.

- US just gave Taiwan 108 M1A2T tanks (thank you to all the American users for your 1.28 billion tax dollars). Our government is still debating on increasing the defense budget to $39B USD. The pro-CCP party Kuomintang is trying to impeach President Lai for treason against China, which will go nowhere because the Democrats hold the majority seats.  US military is moving into the East Asia Sea and has set up missiles across the small islands near Taiwan and promised defense for not just Taiwan but also the Philippines. Japan and US just ran military exercises on filipino soil
- Japan just removed it own ban on exporting lethal weapons, it will now give/sell military weapons like fighter jets, destroyers, and missiles to countries like S Korea, Taiwan, and Philippines. Also Japan is making deals with the US to create a joint military drone manufacturing base.
- CCP is responding by threatening the EU countries like Germany and Czech Republic should they continue to export firearms to Taiwan and Philippines.
- a bunch of CCP loyalists in Canada just got arrested because they were using a SMS blaster, a device that mimics a cellphone tower so that cellphones within proximity would connect to it and collect their private info
- Facebook bought an AI startup company from China called Manus and now the CCP has banned the founded from leaving the country to prevent the deal from solidifying. this is an effort to prevent the US from getting the advanatge in AI.
- China is facing a massive increase in lung cancer in their population, most likely linked to their ever increasing pollution. China now makes up 68-70% of all reported lung cancer cases worldwide. There are now entire villages that are majority cancer-ridden due to being near rivers of toxic waste or smog.
- cancer rate is so bad, the CCP is now advising doctors to not tell patients if they have cancer to prevent national panic. Now doctors will now require permission of disclosure from the patients family to give the bad news. this has lead to less than 45% of chinese cancer patients ever being aware that they have cancer.

Are taiwanese in on the japanese hate like the mainlanders? I see the Chinese rolling out the japan hate movies and wonder if you're up for that or just think its propaganda? Also thoughts on hong kong are they fellow chinese fighting against the CCP or are they stooges now?

mutual enemy. We'll be friends if it means taking out the Chinese. Hong Kong used to be an ally but they've got taken over. Now there pretty much part of China completely.

Do you like mainlanders? do you think taiwan should be it's own country indefinitely? Should china be broken up into smaller states like it used to be?

Did you know that the DPRK makes some of its citizens to join IT companies in the West (remote work)? Their real mission is to infiltrate those companies and gather intelligence.

The workers forced into this scheme are kept in small, camera‑monitored rooms. They work over ten hours a day, and 80–90% of their remote earnings go straight to the state - mostly to fund privileges for the so‑called 'Workers' Party of Korea' and its weapons programs.

In one case, a woman in the US was recruited into the spy network to set up a remote work farm specifically for North Korean IT workers. These workers also operate from Manchuria, inside the PRC.

And yet, the insufferable tankies will keep worshipping this 'socialism'...

I'm a full on monarchist myself, it has served us well for millenia and only recently came down because everyone got an ego and thought everyone voting would be a good idea. How well do the politicans you vote for represent your ideas? and how much accountability is there when politicians are changed out every 4 years?

ive only seen one other person support total authoritarianism. Yes, a single ruler is able to act quickly, but what is to stop the ruler from acting against the interest of the people and the kingdom? It's high risk high reward. Not to mention that a single person cannot understand the perspectives and nuance of all the subjects in the kingdom, and therefore cannot expertly make decisions with so little knowledge.

Yes a politician seldomly acts in accordance to the people, because they suffer the same problems that kings do, lack of understanding of the common people. With a large group of other politicians via a revolving door, this prevents a single person from creating a catastrophe

A monarch is not a authoritarian despite popular depictions, usually they interact with other powers in order to rule the country effectively. Think like a city would have a democratically elected leader and the monarch would be responsible for the larger nation and have an investment in seeing it do well because their fate is tied to it. Unlike the CCP and DPRK where they're beholden to the whims of the party which necessitates their brutality to keep the party supporting them.

Socialism/communism is the surface level dream of a unattainable utopia. It appeals to the stupid and the lazy. It is easier to claim all the bad news about communism as "sabotage by the US" or "wasnt real communism" rather than taking accountability.

I get where you're coming from. The internet has a lot of 'CIA sabotage' types. And honestly I do not fully get who is mass producing these people.

But the 'stupid and lazy' part - I just can't agree. Empirically, some very smart people (Einstein, for example) supported socialist ideas. That doesn't make them right, but it does mean the label 'stupid or lazy' doesn't fit.

As for utopia. Let us consider the fact that 200 years ago there was no centralized heating, education, etc.
And even if you know my position on state power, etc., it is undeniable we have made huge socio-cultural progress. I think that the 'bureaucracy question,' first defined by Einstein and later worked on by Stafford Beer, can be resolved; it is a question of social design.
I get the skepticism given the Soviet Union and shitholes like North Korea, but I do not believe one has to say a plane is a bad idea because a specific plane model did not work at all.
At least this is my view.

a lot of smart people are only smart in a specific subject. Einstein is a theoretical physicist, not a economist. He has been wrong many times before, especially in subjects outside his expertise (for example his famous quote about bees which was widely accepted for the longest time was easily debunked).

Quick side note that bee quote isn't actually Einstein's.

My main point wasn't about his authority anyway. It was that calling socialist ideas 'stupid and lazy' ignores a long history of thoughtful, hardworking people who disagree with you.

Take Paul Sweezy a Harvard-trained economist whom even the Nobel laureate Paul Samuelson (no socialist himself) called "the best that Exeter and Harvard can produce."

Anyway, we don't have to agree. Just wanted to clarify where I'm coming from.

Can't deny its unattainable for the human to achieve communism but then theres also just the problems that you mentioned that most communist experiments either got actively sabotaged or were abominations of the concept that communism was supposed to be

communism at best can only function within a small community of people since the population is small enough to keep everyone accountable and to better understand the needs of each individual.

To be fair to the fathers of scientific socialism, they based their militia model on Switzerland. Swiss citizens were trained in handling their weapons. The main point is that the weaponry should be stored at home, as the Swiss did, so that the government could not seize the arms in order to establish a dictatorship.

Yeahh im not getting the reference but I also wouldn't want communism to be used in a huge nation more like smaller nations or straight up only in places where it makes sense

NeZha's picture

hes essentially saying that communism even at its best and most ideal would still be open to external threats. The best way for a civilization to thrive is not just maintain order from within, but to evolve and prepare for external threats.

there was no reference, I was just pointing out that Marx wanted communism on a mass scale even tho getting rid of all that shit would leave people in complete anarchy.

AW FUCK I ACCIDENTLY CLICKED DISLIKE

But yeah Ive heard since North Korea is embargoed by nearly every nation on earth, the only way they can increase their GDP is to run hack other nations. I heard a story about a north korean mathlete who found out he will be conscripted to join the hacking program after highschool, so on his last international math olympiad, he snuck out of the hotel, went to the airport, and found a south korean airline to help him defect. North Korea stopped participating in international math competitions for awhile and only came back with several guards.

Leona might know more, but all of this happened over Twitter:

- Koreans and Malaysians argue over tourism photography etiquette (Koreans say respect peoples privacy and dont take pictures of them, while Malaysians say "if its public and legal, its free game"

- Koreans call Malaysians a subpar species of humans who rely on Kpop to have any culture.

- Indonesia pops in and says south asia doesnt have a leader (na is slang for main character) and if there was, it wouldnt be Korea.

- Koreans respond by making fun of their uncentralized south east asian unity via tiktok dances and music vidoes

- The Philippines and Thailand jump in and push back at Korea with more racism

- Korea calls all South East Asians as subhumans who sympathize with their colonizers

- Vietnam jumps in since they fought their colonizers multiple times and accuse Korea of various war crimes.

- Koreans call the Indians and Pakistanis subhuman.

- Indians and Pakistanis band together for their mutual hatred of Koreans
