An old man from East Flanders who's obituary photo the brother of a friend of mine found online, and they thought his face was funny

which to be fair, it kind of is

so they started using it as the headpiece of a meme page on Facebook

and when I did my rebrand I wanted something familiar to me, but unique to this site, ad Gustaaf just came to mind

and the rest is history
